What It Takes To Pull Me Through…
Tackling Challenges of Parenting a Teenager

Working with bright and struggling teenagers, I often think: what we as adults, teachers, parents could have done differently to prevent this child from making bad choices? Why one smart child flourishes in the situation where another similarly bright kid struggles so hard? Teens today seem to be overwhelmed with risks and problems. As an educational consultant, I see intelligent and even gifted kids from professional middle and upper class families get involved into risky and damaging behavior, throwing their lives away and disengaging from their families. We do not have all the answers, but I can share with you what I have learned so far.

NATALIA GLEBOVA

I have worked and studied extensively in the field of education for more than 20 years. I hold an MA in Philosophy from St. Petersburg State University in Russia, an MA in International Law from Central European University in Hungary, and I am currently working on my doctoral degree in Education at UMass, Amherst.

I know from my own experience what it means to have a bright but extremely defiant and struggling child. I have extensively studied educational, therapeutic, and behavioral models, programs, and other resources. Together with my colleague, an experienced LCW, I operate The Changing Tide Associates. Educational and Therapeutic Agency.
