I received a M. S. Degree in Applied Mathematics and Physics from the Moscow
Institute of Physics and Technology (FizTech) in 2000. I have several research
publications.
I have passed all official NY State Teacher Certification Examinations required
for the NY State teaching license. At present, I am involved in a Ph.D.
program in Financial Mathematics.
For the last two years I have worked as a math teacher of elementary and
middle school students. Kids of 5-12 years old are extremely open to acquiring
new knowledge and skills. I am happy to observe their progress in mathematics
and the substantial increase in their test score results. This spring, all
my 3rd and 4th grade students received the maximum scores in State and Citywide
tests. My 5th grade students successfully passed the entrance exams to
prestigious junior high schools in Brooklyn (Mark Twain and Bay Academy).
Besides the regular and test preparation problems, we also solve more
challenging and fun problems, which awaken the interest of my young students
in mathematics, logic, and, generally, in creative thinking.
